Update firmware (https://flasher.meshtastic.org/)

Under Radio (https://meshtastic.org/docs/configuration/radio)

1. LoRA
   • Set Region
2. User
   • Enable Amateur Mode
   • Set Callsign / Shortname (See Node Naming Convention)
     • (If this is an unmonitored / Tower node): Set unmessagable
     • This requires setting your node type to type Router, and then changing your node type back to client. This setting gets set automatically with router and will stay set.
3. Position
   • Set Location (disable all but elevation) to fixed, broadcast one hour
4. Bluetooth
   • Change the bluetooth pin! (if required)

Under Module (https://meshtastic.org/docs/configuration/module)

1. Telemetry
   • Enable power telemetry once an hour as required

Note: When you change the node to router in order to set unmessagable, it sets the location broadcast to 12 hours. So you’ll need to set it back to an hour depending on the order you do things in.
